Our Vision

To be a vibrant, Christ-centered community where the Luganda language serves as a bridge to deeper faith, spiritual growth, and cultural unity.

We envision a space where every believer can articulate their devotion, prayers, and praise in the language of their heart.

Who We Are

Okusaba Mu Luganda (Prayer in Luganda) is a dedicated fellowship born out of a desire to worship God in our native tongue. We believe that language is more than just a tool for communication; it is a vital part of identity, culture, and spiritual consciousness.

For many Ugandans living in the diaspora and at home, praying in Luganda brings belonging, clarity, and deeper connection. We provide a sanctuary for those who yearn to connect with the Baibuli (Bible) and Njatula (Hymns) without the barriers of a second language.

Our Mission

Our mission is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ and make disciples by:

Worshiping in Truth Providing regular services and prayer meetings conducted entirely in Luganda to foster authentic spiritual experiences.
Building Community Serving as a center of unity for Luganda speakers, offering pastoral care, and supporting one another in times of joy and trial.
Equipping the Next Generation Ensuring our children grow up with a strong foundation in both their faith and their mother tongue.

What We Believe

We are an inclusive fellowship rooted in the Holy Scriptures. We believe in the power of prayer (Okusaba) to transform lives and the importance of communal worship (Okusinza) to strengthen the body of Christ.

Godliness & Integrity Living lives that reflect the light of Christ.
Unconditional Love Welcoming all people regardless of their background or walk of life.
Selfless Service Following the example of Christ by serving our community with humility.

Why We Worship in Luganda

Language is critical to how we understand God’s grace. Many in our community find that their most profound spiritual moments happen when they can express their deepest fears, thanksgivings, and petitions in Luganda.

By worshiping in our first language, we remove the self-consciousness of translation and allow the Holy Spirit to move freely within our hearts.
